THE IDEA

What to do with an old quarry pit on the west side of Oahu? Synergo built a multi-adventure tower at the bottom of the quarry, with a bridge from ground level to the top of the tower, offering guests the chance to zip through the re-forested corridors of the quarry, challenge themselves on the climbing wall or adventure park, or free fall from the top level of the tower back to the quarry floor. What was an under-utilized hole in the ground has since become a jungle of native plants for locals and tourists alike to have fun, educate themselves, and challenge their limits in the Hawaii sun.

SYNERGO SERVICES

CONCEPT & DESIGN

Synergo worked along side owner and entrepreneur Jim Owen to create an adventure experience that was multifaceted and versatile, allowing guests to choose from a variety of activities. The idea was to include ATV rides, ziplining, rock climbing, an triple-tiered aerial adventure park and even zombie-themed paint balling.

BUILD & INSTALLATION

Over the course of two months, Synergo designed and built dueling zipline tours and a three-tiered aerial adventure park attached to a central tower.

GUIDE TRAINING

Synergo created and delivered a specifically tailored training for Coral Crater’s staff and managers. This training was delivered following the Association for Challenge Course Technology standards, was 40 hours in length and included topics such as rescues/retrievals, orientations, gear inspections, proper clipping attachments, soft skills/customer service and much more.

ANNUAL INSPECTIONS

Synergo annually inspects Coral Crater’s adventure offerings adhering to the Association for Challenge Course Technology standards.

ANNUAL GEAR PACKAGES

Synergo takes pride in outfitting Coral Crater fully with a full collection of proper gear and equipment. Taking into account the unique structure of the Adventure Tower, Zip Tour, number of guides and unique climate of Hawaii, the gear package included guide and guest helmets, trolleys, communication radios, guide and guest harnesses, lanyards and rescue packs.

OPERATIONAL DOCUMENT & MANUAL CREATION

In order to demonstrate operational competence if an accident were to happen, create knowledge and skill continuity among staff and create a reference for how the design, equipment and training at Coral Crater intersect, we created an necessary Operations Manual. On top of the main manual, Synergo also created a package of operation documents to be used by staff.
