FACILITATORS | BUILDERS | TRAINERS | GUIDES | MAGICIANs
Located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Synergo provides a variety of exciting and popular outdoor industry jobs.
Here at Synergo, we work hard. Like, really hard. It’s not unusual for builders to set up camp for months at a time and for inspectors to travel to three different states in a matter of a week. We eat, sleep and dream about work and run on good coffee, good conversations and good people.
If you’re passionate about the outdoor industry, connecting with people and willing to work sun-up until sun-down – we’d love to hear from you!
CURRENTLY SEEKING : FULL-TIME FIELD FOREMAN
Synergo is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our construction projects onsite. We are a fast growing and rapidly evolving company and we are looking for an intelligent, compassionate, and organized person to join our close-knit team. Working directly under the Construction Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for making sure project needs and deadlines on the ground are met. Most of the Project Manager’s time would be spent on the jobsite, with supplemental time in the office. This is a full time position.
We are always hiring part-time, on-call facilitators although facilitation is not a full-time/year-round job. Our busiest seasons are Fall (September) and Spring (April – May). Some facilitators work for us 5 days a year and some work 85 – it all depends on your availability, skill level, and appropriate fit for groups. We require all of our facilitators to have a minimum of an ACCT Level I Facilitator Full Certification through a PVM, CPR certification, and at least two experiences shadowing our programs. If you’re interested in becoming a Facilitator but do not have the proper certifications – no problem. Check out our Training Page and we'd be happy to help you sign up for the next one!
We are also always looking to expand our build crew. A builder’s schedule can be anywhere from 2 hours a week to 100 hours a week – all depending on need. We are involved with projects all over the country including Alaska and Hawaii and it’s not unusual to be on-location for months at a time. The work we do is incredibly physical and mentally strenuous. Prior construction experience is highly valued but not essential.
We believe great trainers are first and foremost great facilitators/guides, so we typically develop our trainers from our facilitator team after they have been working as a facilitator with Synergo for over a year. Trainers for Synergo are Qualified Course Professionals (QCP’s) according to the requirements identified by the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). We use an apprentice model for training our trainers; trainers will shadow, co-lead and lead under supervision before training alone. The available work is very seasonal and many of our trainers continue to work as facilitators or have other jobs.
Synergo’s sister company – NW Adventure – currently runs two Zipline Tours: Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour just outside of Portland, Oregon and San Juan Island Zip Tour on San Juan Island. We are always looking for qualified and experienced guides for all seasons. Although needing an ACCT certification is recommended, we do provide all on-site training once hired. Our busy days are Saturdays and Sunday, so you must be able to work weekends and Holidays.
BOOKING AGENTS/OFFICE STAFF
We hire both full-time and part-time Booking Agents and Office Staff from March through October for every day of the week. Previous customer service and guiding experience is highly valued to excel and training will be provided. This position can be in addition to being a Zip Guide if you are qualified for both.
Don’t seem to fit cleanly into any of these categories? No problem – we didn’t either. If you are truly passionate about the industry and believe you have unique skills that would benefit Synergo, we’d love to hear from you. We provide a variety of outdoor industry jobs for the Pacific Northwest.
