Trust

Trust is the basis from which all relationships develop. With this in mind, we will take some time to learn about trust: whom we trust and what qualities and characteristics do those we trust most possess. We will also take a look at where is trust strong in our community and where does it break down, how we learn to trust ourselves; to be more confident in our abilities, and to develop more trust from others.

Desired Outcomes

  • Understand where trust is strong in our lives and where it is lacking
  • Understand how to become trustworthier in the eyes of others
  • Understand how to trust yourself

Distinctions to be made throughout the program

  • Trust Spectrum: Trust is a dynamic part of our relationships; it changes through our continued interactions with others. It is either created or taken away as we learn more about each other through our interactions.
  • Trust Bank Account: We carry trust accounts with everyone we interact with. During our interactions with them we make deposits or withdrawals from each otheršs trust accounts depending on if we have viewed the interaction as positive or negative in terms of getting our needs for trust met.
  • We choose how people trust us
