Self Esteem

Trust is the basis from which all relationships develop. With this in mind, we will take some time to learn about trust: whom we trust and what qualities and characteristics do those we trust most possess. We will also take a look at where is trust strong in our community and where does it break down, how we learn to trust ourselves; to be more confident in our abilities, and to develop more trust from others.

Desired Outcomes

  • Understand how high self-esteem corresponds to success in life
  • Understand the different ways low self-esteem effects our life
  • Understand how our interactions with others affect their self esteem
  • Recognize the masks we wear to protect our self-esteem and hide our lack of it

Distinctions to be made throughout the program

  • We are responsible for the development of our own self-esteem
  • When people say positive or negative things to us we choose how that will affect our self esteem
  • The amount of self-esteem we have directly relates to the kind of life experiences we have. The experiences we choose to have are related to the amount of self esteem we possess.
  • Our self-esteem is created when we step out of our comfort zones then step back in and reflect on our experiences.
  • How we use masks to protect our self-esteem and hide our lack of it
